Books for a newbie?
Oh man. I have never been a reader. I think since my sailing blossomed into complete madness that i have read 4 times the books i''ve read in the 26 previous years of my life.
Right now i am almost done with the best book i have ever read. it was highly reccomended/gifted to me by a very accomplished RYA Yachtmaster Ocean who regards Adlard Coles as his personal hero. "Adlard Coles'' Heavy Weather Sailing 30th edition". the first sailing book i read that wasnt "Sailing fundamentals" (my Basic Keel boat Textbook) was "Dove" by Robin Graham which i reccomend highly i then read "Maiden Voyage" by Tania Aebi (she is the first woman and youngest person to ever solo circumnavigate and today is a regular contributor to sailnet. the following is my short list of books to read in no particular order(incidentally Heavy Weather sailing has significantly increased my list of books to read):
Lin and Larry Pardey Books: starting with "Storm Tactics Handbook in keeping with Heavy Weather Sailing''s specific suggestion.

Sailnet Force 10
Chapman Piloting, Seamanship
and Boat Handling
by Elbert S. Maloney
this book is aboard Josefina right now and i will make an attempt to read it but it is more of a reference book as far as i can tell thusfar.
In any case these should be enough to keep you busy for some time.
enjoy And welcome,
-Adam
