Well. While not the smartest political move, Phil Gramm's statement otherwise suffers from nothing else other than being correct. while the economy has been much better, and much worse, I'll restate what I said over a year ago to a certain individual who thought the US sky was falling because of housing financing. What is actually amazing is that, at record gas prices, and fighting two separate wars, is that the economy is doing as well as it is. Earlier this year after a fall of chicken little we were told repeatedly that we were in recession, gleefully by some lib-jobs, so where's the negative growth? Yes, I'd call it a mental recession.
Viagra versus the pill? Aside from wasting my time responding, you're wasting your time if you think the American people are going to elect a president based upon his position on viagra versus birth-control payments.
On the other hand, the Loon tunes at The Nation are reading the situation a whole lot better than their erstwhile followers. Obama is starting not so much McCain whom he's running against as he is President Bush against whom it was marketed that he was running against. On issues such as foreign policy, national security, and terror it's difficult to run against the mature adult position for long and imagine actually living in the White House. That no one actually knows what Obama truly thinks deep inside is reason to believe that the election is McCain's to lose.
