I tride doing that 2 years ago with a 3000 raymarine and a 176 Garman. It did not work ether. I called raymarine and thay said you neaded a see talk box. How ever when ever you come to a change of corse you will have to tell your auto pilot that it is OK to turn, It is almost as easy to just punch in the new heading. The only real advantage is for curent or windig, The cross track will help keeping you on course for your next way point.
