Mitch,
Take a second look and I think you'll find that I never said you favored Obama. I was merely commenting on your report from the convention.
I don't follow this thread closely enough to know who's on what base, politically speaking. Every now and then I pop in, and once in a great while I see a point that tickles me enough that I reply (I think this may be only my third or fourth post to this somewhat pointless, interminable thread). Like you, I'll vote how I'll vote this November, and I expect anyone else reading this thread will do the same irrespective of what you or I or the Pope posts to it. So whatever you do, don't take anything I say here too seriously much less personally.
And, hey, I have a pretty fair sense of humour (anybody remember Sapperwhite's "Dawn of Man" post??

). But I've never been a great fan of
ad hominem attacks. They may sound cute or clever at first, but they tend to backfire because they have an uncanny and uncomfortable way of reminding folks of the schoolyard bully.
That said, I stand by my previous musing: I think it's a particularly unwise strategy to play word games with candidates' names. I doubt you'll hear a similar response from the opposition, but more than likely there are quite a few undecided voters out there who are taking mental notes.
