It's difficult to refrain from using the name Looney Left when confronted with such foofaraw. The actual Fox News article that provoked the screeds by the bloggers cited is here:
Gustav Threatens GOP Convention Plans - America’s Election HQ. It seems to be nothing less than a valid concern for what could be a natural disaster. On the one hand, the Lefties want to condemn Bush, and all Republicans, for fiddling while Nola flooded yet seem to think that prior concern for the effects of another hurricane amount to nothing more than political posturing. You really can't have your cake and eat it too.
You'll note that Governor Jindahl has stated that he'll skip the convention if the hurricane threatens. He seems to have the notion that his job is more important than party politics. Or maybe he figures that Mayor Nagin might have lost the bus keys again.
You were really remiss in not mentioning the GOP-caused effects of Global Warming in producing Gustav. It's one thing for Republicans to invent the coriolis effect but to think that Karl Rove can summon up hurricanes at will? The man is demonic!
Rather than fixate on being taken seriously, an effort that is clearly not working out, perhaps the Left should settle for being beloved humorists. It's really not a bad gig and it results in people laughing with you instead of at you.
