After reading through the transcript of Obama's acceptance speech, I can't help but be reminded of the slogan of one of the most well known bars in Alaska, Chilkoot Charlies (disclaimer, I played for their softball team for 3 years). The slogan was: "We cheat the other guy, and pass the savings on to you". To me, that pretty well sums up the laundry list of all the things Obama is promising to "give" to people.
He promises to take from the rich, be it individuals or oil companies, and give to everyone else. This from the same person who spent $6 million dollars on a stage set, just to give a speech. While talking about how he understands what the middle class is going through.
Think about that for a moment. He was giving a speech, a speech that was supposed to tell us who he was, and what we could expect from him. And they hire Britney Spears' set designer to build a temple. Is this the "change we can believe in"?
