I think perhaps you're making some unfounded assumptions about the character of "Hillary people." Many women were behind Hillary for the same reason many African Americans are behind Obama: "She (He) is one of us." You won't find many of Obama's African American supporters admitting to it aloud, in public, but many Clinton supporters remain unabashedly clear that they were looking to see the ultimate "glass ceiling" shattered. If I'm right, and I believe I am, some number of those women may well shift their support to Gov. Palin. If McCain wins in November, and Palin does a credible job as V.P., she could well be up for the Prez nod in 2012. I can't say with any certainty yet, but she certainly
appears more electable than Hillary Clinton. As for the abortion rights thing: I think that's like as not mostly a wash. I bet you'll find a not insignificant number of Clinton supporters were either neutral on the issue or supported her
despite her positions those issues. As for "gun totin' NRA member": Don't look now, but the fastest growing segment of the gun-owning population is women
