Yes Pro Choice is just that.... Think the kid made a CHOICE... Two in fact.. One, not listening to parents- as if my kids listened to me (I wish)... As if I listened to mine (I also wish)... Second CHOICE... having a baby vs running to a plan parenthood clinic and getting an abortion and not telling parents.. Many kids do that- Its a CHOICE... The Democratic blogs speak for themselves... The Girls mom is guilty of nothing decietful... She taught her kids her values. Her one kid did not listen and thier is a consequence for such a choice... To demean the 17 y/o kid as the democratic blogs have done is shameful- if they had any shame... I kind of think my earlier post spoke for itself and I think other posts by PB and others speaks for itself... You lost me with the "is that conservatism?" Not sure if you want me to answer that or give you a definition. I am certainly not a dictionary nor a voice for conservatism, yet I will give my brief reply... Its about personal responsibility and accepting that my choices have consequensces.. Its about not blaming others for my situations in life... From my own life experiences... I retired from the armed forces after 30 years... I seen many entering retirement and had virtually little savings and much debt. After 30 years of saving each payday and the years of interest and compounding I was sitting pretty good and have no need for future employment. Thats financial responsibility.. I do not need Bush, Obama or anyone to hold my hand nor do I suffer from economic anxiety. I made a choice to purchase a home and at 50 years of age own it outright- I can not understand people in there 60's with 200K mortages and massive debt with little savings. My thinking is they made some less then steller choices... Oh perhaps like my one 65 year old friend who complains about the economy and lives in a apartment and blames BUSH.. I ask him if his SEVEN divorces have something to do with his situation? and if BUSH is responsible for his marital problems... My background is in Health care... I have seen sick people with COPD who still smoke, or OBESE people with heart and or diabetes... These same people eat like crap and consider getting off the couch excessive exercise... Yet, there failing health is the fault of BUSH... I really do not know how to write this at present- other then to say- Choices have Consequences- and most people make there choices, while blaming the consequences on other people and expect other people to solve the self created problems... BTW, this may be another way I look at what may be called conservative... 535 member of our Congress spend money on wasteful programs while running up a Huge Credit Card Debt... Too many americans also live with out a budget and in there means (meaning the to run up massive debt)... The same americans blame congress for run away costs... In my household I have very little influence on the 535 members of congress.. I can vote for one US Rep and TWO US Senators- thats three people out of 535... Yet, in my household I have tremendous influence over TWO People- myself and the better half...
Ebbs, I do not know if this is conservatism as you asked... It is just my observations...
