You're right Dawg, we haven't accomplished diddly squat.
The main stronghold of the Sunnis, Anbar Province, has been turned over to Iraqi control (I think that was buried on about page 48 of the NYT's). 15 out of 18 of the political benchmarks have been reached. Infrastructure has been rebuilt, and oil is flowing, so they can now have an economy. Elections are scheduled, and all factions have joined in the government. Fewer US soldiers were killed this summer than there were murders in Chicago. Troop levels are being drawn down, as the Iraqi's become better trained, along with the marked decrease in violence.
So no, we aren't succeeding at all. And I don't know who the he**'s dictionary that would come from. One can only hope that Bush Derangement Syndrome is self-healing, once he leaves office.
