4 years ago we had a good experience with Erik Bentzen in Seattle. He was thorough, knowledgable and I believe his rate at the time was $12/foot. Survey took approximately 5 hours including preliminary in-water inspection and haulout.
A through report with a good range of pictures came in the mail within a week, but as we were able to be present during the whole affair we already had a good idea of where things stood.
Though we were experienced buyers by then, I think he would do well by a newcomer too.
