Take a look at the history of social security. When it was created, there were concerns about the gov't appropriating the money for other expenses so a restriction was added to block that. There was concern that SS benefits would be taxed away so there was a restriction added to block that. Both of those restrictions were removed by government when all three branches were under control of the democrats. In Clintons first 2 years, the banking laws were re-written over the objections of conservatives. Those re-writes relaxed the accounting rules that led to the Enron and worldcom collapses. The republicans looked real good going in when they had control of all three branches a few years ago. They botched it too.
I think Barak could be a good president if the house & senate were under republican control. But he will be a puppet for Pelosi & Reed and they have big plans for big spending and bigger taxes. Obama & Biden both voted to increase taxes on income over $31,000 just 2 years ago.

We need a balanced government and we will not have that with Obama as president. Like him or not, McCain is the needed choice to keep the democrats in check and provide balance.
And I thought the fact that he can't find his ass with both hands would be enough.
