First...this thread is ABOUT politics!
Second...I agree with MUCH of what you say
-I don't want to rely on foreign oil or HAVE to send in our troops anywhere to protect our supplies. I am FOR exploiting our oil and not sending the money to our enemies or sending our troops to deal with them for oil.
-I disagree on the USA oil companies..their profit margins aren't obscene and it is the FOREIGN/STATE owned oil that controls 90% of the world supply and prices by regulating supply. We need our own oil as much as possible to hold THEM in line.
- I'm with you on nukes and I HOPE the real future is in renewables...but thy are decades away from being cost competitive OR having an infrastructure that can support our needs. Nukes we know can be competitive but it takes more than a decade to bring a plant on line even under expedited conditions...which never happen.
It is no band-aid when you have enough oil to support decades of use while the other solutions are being worked on but the Dems won't let you use what you have...preferring to give the bucks to the Saudi's.
We need to DRILL NOW an get all the OIL we can NOW while we exploit and explore and develop other technologies that will work down the road.
