TDW...I agree with you and your Snopes citation that Obama had little to nothing to do with the policies that led to the banking failure. Tying that can to his tail is quite a reach.
Nevertheless...this is how organizations like acorn work. They find a potential violation of law and sue...or threaten to sue and bring bad publicity on a company. In any event, it will cost the company a TON of money and or business from bad publicity to defend itself. So...they settle to make it go away. The SETTLEMENT is where the real purpose of the suit is shown as agreement on a whole 'nother set of issues is demanded. In this case, Citi agreed to "help ease the way for low and moderate income people to apply for mortgages". So...what starts out as a redlining case...ends up as a "we will relax our standards in lending" agreement. Oh and by the way...you can bet the setllement included a generous payment to Acorn so they could do it again.

This is a strategy employed time and time again by organizations like Acorn and that Obama is closely associated with this type of activism IS a cause of concern. It is the crowd he hangs out with and their view of "social justice" that concerns me.
