I think it would be a fine boat for your plans and it looks to be extremely well loved from the photos. Be sure to get a good survey and a separate look at the engine by a diesel mechanic.
This boat is what i would call a "tweener"...not really built for blue water voyaging but built better than many production boats. Hence it is suitable for a trip to Bermuda at the RIGHT time of year and with a good long term forcast when captained by a competent crew with some blue water miles under their belt.
I suggest that if that experience factor does not describe YOU...then you may want to work your way down the coast on a few passages before jumping off around Norfolk for Bermuda once you feel comfortable.
I think the boat can be a very nice couples live-aboard in the Bahamas and Caribe. Good luck!
