They're trying to spoil it for me.
I am determined not to let that happen.
First Bill Krystal equates Barak Obama and his campaign to the Rays and then goes so far as to announce that if the Rays win, Obama wins.
Then I read today that David Price introduced Obama at a rally yesterday, calling him the next POTUS.

I don't think there is a wall between the Church and State. But I think that there should be one between Baseball and State. It's one of the few things we still have in common as Americans. A ballgame is one of the places you can safely go and not have to worry about being drawn into a political debate.

Am I just naive or shouldn't the front office of the Rays have put their foot down and prevented this. At least until after the World Series? They shouldn't go trying to piss off a large percentage of their fans on the brink of their first World Championship Series.

There oughta be a law.

Rays win the pennant, Obama rides the wave!

There are some interesting parallels, but like everything else in this election they are twisted beyond recongnition down the rabbit hole...
Barack Obama has the political resume that it the equivalent of the Tampa Bay Rays, compared to the New York Yankee-level connections of John McCain.
But...
The Tampa Bay Rays pay less for their entire team than the New York Yankees pay for Alex Rodriguez.
But...
Barack Obama raised $150 million in one month while John McCain raised eyebrows!

It is a day of celebration. Constant gold-plated endorsement action for Obama, and the miracle season of the Tampa Bay Rays continuing on to the World Series? It doesn't get any better than that.
I see a great deal of synchronicity here. David Price was magnificent tonight, and he even looks a bit like Barack. The odds against the Rays were as astronomical as an African American being in position to win the White House. It's a great day to be a baseball fan in Florida. Almost as great as being an Obama supporter on the day we got the Colin Powell endorsement.
Congratulation Rays, and Go Obama!
Party on.
