I recently bought a boat equipped with
Lewmar 46 primary
winches. Although the
jib sheets do not seem too badly worn, I am getting a lot of slippage from the self-tailers on the
winches, one significantly worse than the other. My sailing buddies say I need larger diameter
jib sheets, but I also understand that these
Lewmar''s have spring-loaded tailers. Before I start tearing into the
winch, can anyone advies if I need new sheets -- or just a rehab of the spring-loaded tailers?
