Islander 40

A boat that has caught my interest, but requires a bit of travel to see, is the Islander 40. Can't find much info on them, lots of info on the I-36 but not the 40. My question would be does this boat have enough creature comforts, like large galley, plenty of storage or is it a bare bones racer / cruiser with the emphasis on racer?

Any experience or knowledge of this boat would be appreciated.
Thank you

Looks as cushie as a typical modern 34 footer. ;-)

But then I know folks who live aboard such boats as a Cape Dory 30 and a Catalina 34 so "comfort" can be a very relative thing.

According to the PHRF something happened between hulls 30 and 31 that slowed them down a tad thereafter. Possibly better interior accomidations.
