A mizzen is often trimmed in harder than the main because the mizzen is working in the a zone that is dealing with the disturbed air off the main. (similar to being "lee bowed" on the race course).. as such if your tranducer is there it will be telling you about that same disturbed airflow/direction, not the true apparent wind relative to the boat.
