Sorry for the delay in response as I lost internet in the storm for about 18 hours. To answer a few questions raised:

The boat name was WHIM out of Philly.

Don't know what kind of power boat I was on but it looked like a 30' or larger version of this one below...with an inboard Catapiller engine and deep V keel.

He could not kedge off as he was lying parallel to shore with the mast tilted to shore.

There was no apparent damage other than the rudder and whatever was wrong with the engine. Of note...earlier on the day they left I smelled gas/diesel as we pulled their boat into the dock and told the captain that he should check it. Don't know if that will prove a factor.

Sorry dawg...no pix. I thought about it but my digital ain't waterproof!

Finally...it was NOT THAT bad and we were perfectly safe and took no risks so don't assume any special bravery on my part...I really don't deserve ANY kudos but thanks for the thoughts. I hope you enjoyed the tale and maybe took away a lesson or two and I hope I have the chance to do some more of this in the future as it was a good adventure.
