Fuel

S:

Since fuel is available virtually everywhere in the Caribbean and, as you noted, winds are usually abundant, fuel capacity isn''t usually in significant issue except in the extended run to windward made by cruisers along the coasts of Hispaniola and Puerto Rico. These are typically motorsails, fuel is available at intermediate stops, but you might want to lay out your maximum track, normal fuel consumption (against head seas/winds at reduced speed), and fold in a comfy margin.

Having said all that, I''d suggest a different guideline instead: stay away from jug farms on deck and plan to make do with your installed tankage plus what jug(s) capacity you can accommodate in your cockpit lockers. That''s a more seaworthy answer and should be adequate for any boat given some thoughtful planning.

Good luck on the voyage!
