Cetol

There is much ado about Cetol requiring less maintenance than a traditional varnish. This is only partially true. A Cetol finish (assuming three coats), will last a couple of years. The benefit is that you can spot-varnish the sections that wear out, and it blends in nicely. But, you will still need to strip it down every 2-4 years. When the coats build up, the finish looks cloudy. It ain''t the miracle product that they claim it to be.
