I've moved aboard my R33 (Hull 255, 1976) in Seattle with my girlfriend. I've replumbed the ancient Magic Chef propane oven
and have been cooking up a storm here in the gentle winter we're having.
The R33's narrow beam has been crucial for me here at this marina, where the slips are nominally 12 feet wide but in actuality many of my neighbors are house barges so most slips have barely over 11 feet. I'm moored next to a Cal 34 and we both cheer when we make brilliant maneuvers to depart and arrive in these slips.
With Lake Washington at a wintertime low level, I might be able to sneak the R33 through the Montlake Bridge (nominal clearance 46 feet) but I'm nervous about the actual height. Anyone rig
a laser level to their masthead for this sort of thing ?
