Albin Vega 27 for sale

To all—

Just found this posted on another website:

Quote:
Having made a commitment to being at sea a fair bit in the coming year, I need to cut back my “fleet” of personal boats to just one (WanderBird, my Cape Dory 26D).

As some may recall, I purchased a 27’ Albin Vega last year which I have done some work on and planned to finish off when WanderBird is set (note that I didn’t say “done” – we all know that never happens). Rather than have the Vega sitting around, I would like to pass her on to another sailor who appreciates the Vega’s fine qualities and reputation and would get her out sailing. She is solid and in good shape, newer sails, good rig and diesel engine, but pretty spartan as far as electronics and such. Could use a little TLC but no major projects. Published asking price is $7900, but time has become a bit of the essence - for a SailFar regular I think we could work out a deal that would make everybody happy.

I’ve posted photos and details at 1972 Albin Vega and would be happy to discuss the boat, both its pros and cons.
I don't have any connection to this boat, and thought someone looking for a fairly seaworthy boat might be interested in it.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
