Thanks to everyone who contributed information....

The sawzall works the best, where I could use it (I used it to remove the top of the tank). Grinders , jig saws etc were a bust. Way to scary and too much work jammed in a very confined space with bits of flying aluminum everywhere. So I have just cleaned up the tank and I am now the proud owner of a boat with a keel, metal lined wine cellar.
