Of course he was!
No one in their right mind thinks that NY gets back less than they really receive from the feds...it's just not all on paper directly related to money in and money out. For instance, who do we think that Amtrack subsidies disproportionally benefit, the eastern corridor or the rest of the country?
He also manages to ignore that the federal government owns something on the order of 75% of Alaska it's own self. No other state has less control over it's own land than Alaska.
Serial killers are often hard workers in their chosen endeavors as well. Chuck Schumer is nothing more than a legislative ambulance chaser. And you New Yorkers should consider fixing your own potholes. Or perhaps you're too busy prosecuting Wall Street in state courts in an effort to extort money from them due solely to a geographic coincidence? Prosecutions that, if even necessary, are rightfully a federal matter. Or did you think that the rest of us did not follow the career of Mr. Spitzer? Jerry Ford had it right when he said to NYC to, "Drop Dead!". (actually he didn't say it, the Daily News did but, you get the point!) It's hardly comforting to know that New Yorkers still think the rest of the country should bail them out from their own excesses.
And while we're on it; the rest of the country thinks the Yankees suck, too! (g)
