tuff luff
Hi:
Since no-one has chimed in......When you say equipped with two forestays assume you mean one there are two forestays permanently attached? If so are they immediately adjacent to each other or is one further aft like a cutter stay? Is the Tuff Luff part of a roller furler system or a pure racing headfoil? It is common to see a roller furler on the headstay and a bare wire inner stay several feet further aft that takes hanked on staysails, although less so on 30 footers. Your assumption is correct - jibs with hanks go on bare stays, not on Tuff Luff type extrusions. You might measure the luff length of the headstay(s) if they are different and the jib - that will provide a clue. Years ago you''d see boats with two adjacent headstays. The theory was you could hank on two jibs and wing them both out for tradewinds running.
Hope that helps.....
