The old days of RCYC Junior Club sailing 420s and Laser IIs in Toronto Harbour back in the early 80s. If there wasn't a whole lot of wind (common in Toronto in the morning), we used to drive the ferry captains nuts by using the apparent wind coming off them as they went by at 15-20 knots with spinnakers no less. Our week wasn't complete if the club didn't get at least 3 major complaints. I don't think that any of the dinghys were ever hit as even at 14 years of age you know that a 115' x 35' ferry with a couple hundred people on board is going to hurt.
