Wheelpilot and NMEA
I have a Com-Pac 27 with a set of Navman Instruments wind, Depth, Speed and Chart GPS. I''m looking at a Raymarine ST4000+ or Simrad autopilot. Will it work well or should I go with the Navman G-Pilot that supposedly fully integrates. The G-pilot is an underdeck model at 4 times the cost. I do mainly protected bay sailing. I''ve read the st4000 manual and it seems to be able to do what I want. Does anyone have expierience in interfacing to the autopliots via NMEA 183 that can shed some light on what I should do.
