It depends on your tranny. Some later 36T's came with a Hurth v-drive and some with a Paragon tranny fitted to a Walters v-drive and I've heard of some with a velvet drive.
Generally speaking most transmission can either be locked in reverse or left in neutral though some require reverse locking as they are not lubed without the engine running. Without knowing your drivetrain it's hard to advise.
