French Press is the way to go in my opinion. A barista friend of mine explained the difference in how a normal coffee maker allows hot water to pass through the grains where as a french press allows all the flavor and goodness of the grounds to "Marinade" together instead.
Make sure to stir the grounds when you add hot water a few times and put the seal about 1/4 above the water line while waiting 3 minutes so the plastic seal doesnt lose its firmness, thus allowing the coffee to slip past it when you push down. Also "Espresso ground" is not idea for the French Press as it will coagulate the filter. Use Medium grains if you can. Illy Medium Grain is a great French Press coffee and the cans although expensive are great to use as waterproof air tight tins when you are done with them.
