I own a 1981 Hunter 30 and wouldn't hesitate for a second to replace it with a 34. It is a good coastal cruiser, well laid-out, that offers lots of space belowdecks. Also, the price is usually very affordable.

Hunters aren't built for offshore conditions; they are designed for the coastal trade. Despite the knocks Hunter receives, they make a pretty reliable boat. For example, my boat has spent it's 28-year life on the Great Lakes, the FL Keys, and now the Bahamas for the past 11 years. It has held up well and I have no reason to doubt that I'll still be cruising on it 10 years for now. Can you ask for much more than that?

Good luck!
