No sck, in the 40 some years I've been responsible for my health needs, I've never waited more than a day or two, and then, only because it wasn't urgent. Perhaps you need to find another doctor if you have to wait months to see yours. Evidently though, you prefer to have some bureaucrat decide whan you should get in.
As to your 40 million uninsured, that number doesn't take into account any of the variables that include those who choose not to carry insurance, those between coverages, and, last I heard, around 19 million illegals.
The only way to make something more affordable though, as the housing debacle should have shown, is by reducing the costs. Not by paying for it with someone else's money, nor by mandating prices.
Since the mid 60's and the heyday of the Great Society, we have had programs in place to ensure people don't go hungry, and yet, we still hear stories of those who don't have enough food. Why would you think healthcare would be any different?
