I would sail it I have made the trip in a 28 foot fron Westbrook, CT to barnegste light, NJ to the keys enroute to mississippi only pick your times carefully around the cape and carry a guide with the holes you can duck into in case of trouble and as long as you stay out of the stream you should be ok.
