Liberal Fascism, by Jonah Goldburg, acquaints the uninformed with the roots of fascism and it's attractions prior to the recent unpleasantness. Those aspirations were remarkably similar to our own circumstances. We now have government deciding which businesses shall prosper and which shall fail. Today it's the banks, the auto industry, and not Lehman Brothers. Tomorrow? You'd have to check in with Robert Reich to determine which industries and companies will be determined to be essential to the state in the coming millennium. Apparently the economy is too important to be left to the market.
