I think that you mean hull materials and not hull type. Each of these posible boat building materials has its advantages and disadvantages and each has purposes and boat types for which they make a logical choice and a totally illogical choice. Most of these materials can be used in a range of construction systems that can produce a range of results; some good, some terrible depending on the projected use. To answer your question comprehensively you could fill a book or two.

So I guess I would like to find out more about your goals such as how big a boat you have in mind? Are you talking about building a boat or buying one? How would you see yourself really using this boat? And perhaps we can provide a more specific answer to suit your goals.
