I guess like everything else, "winter" is a relative thing. That amount of snow, though not unheard of, is a rarity in Chesapeake country.

And that was only 8-10".... Interestingly not one single cover that was professionally shrink wrapped by my boat yard failed and they make up about 90% of the covers in the yard. There were eight "home made" that I counted failed and one professionally built canvas cover..
I'm sure some of those boats now have broken or bent stanchions or worse. Covering a boat up here should not be an after thought.
