I have a couple questions about this;
-Who wrote this article and what was its purpose?
-What kind of boat are they talking about and how large?
This sounds like a pretty big boat as the sail plan change they mentions increases the sail area from roughly 700 square feet (what you would expect on a boat with a 33 foot waterline) to nearly 1800 square feet (what you would expect on a boat with a 40 plus foot waterline).
