I have seen some wierd things done to improve oil flow most do not work. I would trash the filter and get a good filter Hastings or a quality filter. I am a dealer for AMSOIL and you can if you wish contact me and I will show you some things that will change the way your engine runs and the length of oil and filter changes. I have a dual Bypass filter on my old Universal Atomic 4 it runs so quiet and cooler with this setup and synthetic oil it is really good stuff. I would like to tell everyone here about this product
