The least expensive system is white electrical tape or self-fusing tape and a ultra-fine-tip sharpie.
Extremely portable, simple to use, if you can write small enough.
This is a great idea. My problem is that I can't get that well organized. I usually end up at the boat and start wiring, so I need a portable, on the spot system.
