You are obviously not a scientist...which is probably a good thing.

Scientists try out thousands...no, MILLIONS, of efforts in an attempt to find out what works.

Kudos if fingernails or bone marrow or anything else works.

Here is my opinion - stem cells, like the current ones, come from:
"The embryos being used in embryonic stem cell research come from eggs that were fertilized at in vitro fertilization clinics but never implanted in a woman's uterus because they were no longer wanted or needed."

In other words, they come from fertilization clinics - A PLACE WHERE MORE LIVES (THAN WOULD HAVE BEEN) ARE CREATED.

You might be able to make a case, and I might agree, if you said it would be unethical to use stem cells from aborted pregnancies.....although I would still support the use from spontaneous abortions (miscarriage - although I doubt they would want to use those!).

But I fail to see the ethics of NOT using those which are from a clinic which MAKES MORE BABIES than there would have been, and are being discarded anyway.

Now, if you do not support fertility clinics - or, if you think we should set up policies so that 100% of eggs in these clinics are forcibly inserted into females and made into babies, then your point makes sense.

If not, it does not - IMHO.
