A suggestion to site mods and owners as per search engine. I have been through this one myself in site I run, and found that just about ANY built-in search engines (forum type) are weak.

It is very easy, and free, to set up a Google Custom Search for your site and then provide a search box right within your page - and it works.
It also allows revenue generation with google ad tie-ins on the results page
