we are moving our 27ft catalina from SF Bay to Lake Tahoe and were wondering how long the boat could be out of the water before the bottom paint (pettit trinidad) is damaged?
You may be finding people reluctant to reply to your question because there are some variables involved. Generally speaking, Trinidad is an epoxy-based paint and, as such, does well in accepting extended periods outside the water. Still, how much active poison remains in the paint & how functional it will be in Lake Tahoe''s waters are unknowns, so your experience could be anything.
Lake Tahoe has outlawed PWCs due to pollution. Are you sure you want to expose the Lake''s waters to the antifouling paint? It''s hard work, but the paint can be removed.
