Not sure about the San Diego area but going north would be Oceanside (forget it, no slips), Dana Point (year wait list), Newport (slips available but $$$). Huntington Beach is not sailboat friendly (bridges) unless you have a tabernacle (sp) mast. Then the three marinas of the City of Long Beach, Shoreline, Rainbow and Alamitos Bay. I was on a wait list for 6 months before I got my slip in Shoreline. Then I got on a list to move to Alamitos Bay where I am now, I was on this list a year. Your best chance for a quick slip is one of the marinas around San Pedro like Cabrillo Marina and then get on a list where you really want to go. Try this website and just call the marinas you are interested in The Log.com Marinas Guide
. Good Luck.

The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
