Isn't perception interesting?
Those are great poll numbers.
But it seems like the poster thinks they are poor.
I figure there are a hardcore 30% on each side of the aisle, and about 40% of people are somewhat in the middle or independent.
If you look at those numbers that way, they look great. Let me give the executive summary:
57% of people give him a C or better, 75% say he passes and moves onto the next grade.
69% say he is doing better or as well as expected.
55% think he had brought some change or a lot of change to DC.
And, don't discount popularity - in the WSJ poll yesterday:
"Perhaps most significantly, Americans so far find him to be likeable. More than 80 percent in the poll say they personally like Obama, even if they don’t agree with all of his policies. And respondents give him high scores on his personality, demeanor and leadership qualities."
I don't think anyone could expect better. If Mac was Prez I really doubt we would see numbers like that.
