Personally ............ LOL All kidding aside I use canned meat almost exclusively for storage ability. I have sailed all over the north Atlantic, southern Europe and the Carribbean and guess who I have found to be my least expensive supplier of universally available canned goods. Come on ... Guess ...... ;o)
Would you believe WALMART .......... LOL. I have bought Tyson canned chicken in France, Hormel canned beef in Chile and the USA (canned in Brazil ... )
My best source of quality meats is "Mother Nature". Specifically, I troll for fish while sailing and I keep an eye out for specific species, especially Tuna. I have had excellent success fishing for Albacore, Yellow Fin and Salmon not to mention the various kinds of Mackerel. Plus I have learned about local species such as rock fish and halibut in Alaska and Cod in Maritime Canada. I could go on and on but cruising doesn't have to be a headache.
