I see you have a gazillion responses here however I feel I MUST comment. Anyone who cooks a sockeye and eats it should be shot at sunrise from the yardarm ............ ;o) Sockeye Salmon should be consumed in only one way.

Smoked Sockeye is beyond delightful and one of the best commodities to have on a cruis --- HOWEVER --- 1/2 a fish well not be enough. U -R gonna need at least 2 fish. Split them and remove the bone and smoke them yourself in a "little smoker". Keep it in a plastic bag and use it for "nibblin" while drinkin beer. PURE HEAVEN ..... LOL.
