Do people misunderstand the constitution - or are they just not aware of what that term "Free Speech" means? It must be one or the other. Read carefully:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. "

The Free Speech thing is something that CONGRESS ONLY shall make no law about....and is ended with the ideal being that Free Speech allows us to organize and petition the government.

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with anything else! No...you don't have free speech in your office, in the supermarket, in this forum or just about anywhere else.

That stuff from CCP is so far above and beyond anything like Free Speech that it amazes me that it is discussed using that term. To the extent that Sailnet allows stuff like that, it reflects on the site, the moderators, the members and the owners.

Once again, where do folks get the idea that free speech means you can tell someone that they are ugly and not get punched?
