Hello from Europe - planning circumnav on US boat!
Hi all,

I am currently in europe and just signed on to sailnet.com. I've been planning a circumnav solo for a little while now (after I drove in a Land Rover around Africa for 2 years).

I was planning to buy a Contessa 32 which is the benchmark here in Europe for seaworthyness, but the PSC 34 and 37 caught my eye recently. I've done some serious digging and it seems like they could fit the bill as well.

What would people recommend in terms of model I should go for and more importantly how is the second hand market in the US? Do you just bid 30% below the asking price these days because of the crunch???
