Not at all, since two recent nominees who became confirmed also said that their experience as immigrants and minorities would affect their views on cases.
And, as if this really needs explaining, when you are in power and control...you don't need to say certain things. They are taken for granted. It is mostly done with a "wink wink, nod nod"....
Personally, I rarely think of myself as a white male. Or even a male. All these little clubs that people classify themselves into are just a bit silly sometimes.
At the same time, each of us is a product of our experiences - and those with a richer experience tend to being more tolerance and responsibility to a position where a lot of such is called for. That is why we don't let people who are 25 years old become President.
Why do I assume that the same people who say "we conservatives have to fight with every bone in our bodies" against all the policies of Obama....just might....I mean, they just might have a problem with whomever he would select. So be it. But you don't get to decide. That's the breaks, and if I have my way it will be that way for awhile (of course, I don't get to decide either, which is fine too).
