With Joe "The Gaffe" Biden leading the way, we discover that the best and brightest (in his words) "guessed wrong" about the depth of the recession and the consequent effects of the "job saving" stimulus. About 2 million unemployed wrong, and one million if we had done nothing, according to their numbers.
The promised peak unemployment of 8%, if we would only pass his stimulus, has become 9.4% and rising. Remember him standing there with the head of Caterpillar and assuring us that with his stimulus, Caterpillar would be re-hiring laid off workers? Of course, Bambi forgot he hadn't taken over Caterpillar and forgot to check with the guy that makes the decisions. So rather than re-hiring, we got more layoffs. Ooops!
Fortunately for the Obametuer though, the ever viligant watchdogs of the media didn't notice. Much like they haven't noticed anything else that doesn't quite live up to it's billing. But not to worry, because it will create 600,000 TEMPORARY summer jobs. You know, the kind that happen every summer when kids get out of school. The minimum wage jobs that don't really count as "real jobs" because they don't pay a "living wage".
The further good news is that only around $50,000,000 of the stimulus will end up wasted on various types of corruption, though we won't know for sure because the promised "real time tracking" of the stimulus won't be ready till most of the money's spent. If it's ever ready at all.
